The case was transferred from Unnao to Delhi and was probed by the CBI. On August 1, 2019, the apex court docket had directed that the survivor, her mom, and different family members be offered safety by the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). On December 20, 2019, Sengar was sentenced to jail for the “the rest of his pure organic life” within the rape case.

On March 4, 2020, Sengar, his brother, and 5 others had been convicted for the dying of the rape survivor’s father in judicial custody and had been sentenced to 10 years imprisonment.
