UK Says Russian Spies Almost Certainly Behind Kremlin Critic Poisoning

Britain stated on Wednesday that Russia had a case to reply over the poisoning of Alexei Navalny because it was nearly sure that Russian intelligence providers carried out the assault with a Soviet-developed chemical weapon referred to as Novichok.

Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab, talking in Washington alongside Mike Pompeo, stated he welcomed Navalny’s restoration however that Russia had a case to reply as using a chemical weapon was unacceptable.

“The Russian government is duty bound to explain what happened to Mr Navalny,” Raab stated.

“From the UK’s point of view, very difficult to see any plausible alternative explanation to this being carried out by the Russian intelligence services, but certainly the Russian government has a case to answer,” Raab stated.
