”Truth, Compassion, Progress”: Rahul Gandhi Remembers Rajiv Gandhi

On Rajiv Gandhi’s dying anniversay in the present day, his kids and Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra took to Twitter and posted images and messages remembering their father. Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated by a suicide bomber on May 21, 1991, when he was at an election assembly at Sriperumbudur in Tamil Nadu. ”Truth, Compassion, Progress,” tweeted Rahul Gandhi in his tribute to the previous prime minister. His sister, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra wrote: ”There isn’t any better power than love, no better braveness than kindness, no better energy than compassion and no better trainer than humility,” on the microblogging website.   

The Congress celebration in the present day tweeted a video of Rahul Gandhi paying homage to his father. In one other put up, the celebration wrote: ”He stood for fact, love and compassion. He believed within the energy of our folks.  He upheld the core values of our nice nation. He envisaged an India amongst the world’s finest. We pay our heartfelt tribute to our  youngest PM, Bharat Ratna Shri Rajiv Gandhi”.

Rajiv Gandhi took over as Congress president in 1984 after the assassination of his mom after which prime minister Indira Gandhi. Later, he turned India’s youngest prime pinister on the age of 40.

The All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary KC Venugopal on Wednesday mentioned that the Congress has requested all of the state items and frontal organisations to watch the dying anniversary of Rajiv Gandhi because the day of “Seva and Sadbhavna” (service to folks and concord) on this hour of disaster.

“In the center of this unprecedented nationwide disaster, May 21, 2021 will mark the 30th anniversary of the martyrdom of former Prime Minister and our beloved chief Shri Rajiv Gandhi. The most applicable homage we are able to pay to his reminiscence and his legacy is by rededicating ourselves to saving lives, securing the well being, and propagating protected behaviour and practices until we have now gained over the pandemic,” the assertion of Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal mentioned.
