Starlink Warned by Telecom Department to Get Licence Before Offering Services

Department of Telecommunications, Ministry of Communications, on Friday identified that Starlink Internet Services shouldn’t be licensed to supply satellite-based web companies in India being marketed to the general public.

According to a press launch issued by the ministry, it has come to note that Starlink has began pre-selling/ reserving the satellite-based Starlink Internet Services in India.

For rendering satellite-based companies in India, requisite license(s) from the Department of Telecommunications is required, the Ministry stated within the assertion.

The stated firm has not obtained any license/authorisation for rendering satellite-based web companies which can be being booked on their web site, it added.

Accordingly, the federal government has requested the corporate to adjust to the Indian regulatory framework for rendering the satellite-based communication companies and chorus from reserving/rendering the satellite tv for pc Internet companies in India with rapid impact.
