A bench headed by Chief Justice SA Bobde, whereas listening to the Centre’s utility in search of an injunction in opposition to the proposed tractor or trolley march or every other sort of protest which seeks to disrupt the gathering and celebrations of the Republic Day, mentioned that police has all of the authority to take care of the matter.
“Does the Supreme Court will say as to what are the powers of police and how they will exercise them? We are not going to tell you what to do,” mentioned the bench, additionally comprising Justices LN Rao and Vineet Saran.
The apex court docket informed Attorney General KK Venugopal that it’ll take up the matter for additional listening to on 20 January.
