Mumbai:

An area courtroom in Mumbai has summoned actor Salman Khan and his bodyguard Nawaz Shaikh on a grievance filed by a journalist in reference to a dispute in 2019.

Metropolitan Magistrate RR Khan in his order on Tuesday famous {that a} police report within the matter acknowledged that offences underneath Indian Penal Code Sections 504 (intentional insult with intent to impress breach of peace) and 506 (legal intimidation) are made out towards the accused individuals.

The courtroom issued course of/summons and posted the matter for additional listening to on April 5.

Journalist Ashok Pandey had in his grievance sought legal motion to be initiated towards actor Salman Khan and Mr Shaikh, his bodyguard.

Mr Pandey alleged that Salman Khan had snatched away his cell phone whereas biking on a Mumbai road when some media individuals began clicking his pictures.

Mr Pandey has in his grievance alleged that Salman Khan had entered into an argument with him after which threatened him.

The courtroom had earlier directed the native police station to conduct an inquiry and submit a report.

In its order on Tuesday, the courtroom mentioned, “Keeping in view the self-speaking material on record, positive police report and other material on record, there are sufficient grounds to proceed against the accused persons.”

The issuance of a course of (summon) marks the start of legal proceedings earlier than a metropolitan or judicial Justice of the Peace on the premise of a grievance filed by a person.

The Justice of the Peace courtroom points the method if it finds any substance within the allegations made within the grievance.

Once the method (summon) is issued, the accused individuals have to look earlier than the courtroom.
