Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav on Friday alleged the quarantine centres in Uttar Pradesh are so dangerous that they’ve develop into “torture camps” because of the “apathetic attitude” of the Yogi Adityanath authorities.
He additionally demanded that the federal government makes public the account of its expenditure within the battle towards the coronavirus pandemic.
“The chief minister used to make big claims about arrangements in quarantine centres. But the reality is that, now they have become torture camps, whose situation is very bad,” Mr Yadav mentioned in an announcement.
“The officers have put migrant labourers as animals in quarantine centres made in ponds and secluded places. The BJP government is highlighting these as 5-star arrangements. At various places labourers, doctors and nurses had protested against it also,” he mentioned.
The Samajwadi Party chief mentioned at a quarantine centre within the chief minister’s constituency Gorakhpur a snake entered the mattress of a labourer, whereas a teenage boy at a quarantine centre in Gonda a died as a result of snake bike in a centre.
The complaints of poor meals and unavailability of employees are widespread. The authorities is extra serious about bus debate and never so about bringing again stranded in different states, he mentioned.
Demanding that the cash spent in coping with COVID-19 be made public, the Samajwadi Party chief mentioned, “People have the right to know where it is spent.”
Mr Yadav earlier introduced to offer Rs 1 lakh to the kid, who was seen mendacity on a baggage being pulled by his mom in Agra.
“We are providing financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh to the parents of the child in the hope that something positive happens to him,” he mentioned.
