Prime Minister Narendra Modi will handle the nation from the Red Fort right now to mark the 400th beginning anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur. PM Modi would be the first prime minister to ship a speech on the Mughal-era monument after sundown.
The Prime Minister can be addressing the nation from the lawns of the Red Fort and never its ramparts.
The fort was chosen because the venue for the occasion because it was from right here that Mughal ruler Aurangzeb had given orders for the execution of Guru Tegh Bahadur, the ninth Sikh Guru, in 1675, in line with officers of the tradition ministry.
