One Montana couple was reunited with previous household picture after floodwaters despatched their furnishings floating down the road

The floodwaters that overran Red Lodge, Montana, left streets filled with particles and plenty of houses broken.

Community members at the moment are doing what they’ll to assist one another rebuild and get well.

While Courtney Halvorson’s residence was left undamaged, her grandparents’ was not. Milt and Kathy Bastian dwell on the nook of Broadway Avenue and Rock Creek, Halvorson informed CNN on Friday.

“The house held out pretty well until at one point the front wall ripped off,” Halvorson informed CNN. Her grandparents weren’t residence, as they’d evacuated to a different member of the family’s residence.

“Neighbors told us they saw their (her grandparents’) furniture fly out of the front room and down the street,” Halvorson mentioned.

One of these items of furnishings was a dresser full of previous household images.

As cleanup started, neighborhood members got here throughout home goods scattered throughout the city.

A neighborhood park become a makeshift “lost and found” as neighbors recovered these things. Many took to the neighborhood’s Facebook web page to publish about their findings.

It was on Facebook that Halvorson noticed a publish that included a photograph of her grandparents’ dresser and pictures – most of which have been nonetheless in good situation.
