Nine maoists have been arrested by safety forces in Chhattisgarh’s insurgency-hit Dantewada district, a police official mentioned on Sunday.
Acting on particular inputs, a joint group of the District Reserve Guard (DRG) and district police arrested the cadres from a forest between Mailwada and Mokhpal villages on Saturday night, Dantewada Superintendent of Police Abhishek Pallava advised PTI.
On seeing the patrolling group, the rebels tried to flee from the spot, positioned round 400 km from the state capital Raipur, however they have been caught after a brief chase, the official mentioned.
Those arrested have been recognized as Nanda Kawasi (28), Badi Vanjam (22), Nanda Padiami (40), Pajja Vanjam (23), Sanna Mandavi (23), Guddi Muchaki (21), Hunga Hemla (24), Naga Hemla (25) and Pala Ram (24), all decrease rung cadres, he mentioned.
They all have been energetic as members of the janmilitia teams and Dandakaranya Adivasi Kisaan Majdoor Sangthan (DAKMS)- a frontal wing of Maoists, the official mentioned.
They have been tasked with placing up Maoists posters and banners, spreading propaganda, informing senior cadres in regards to the motion of safety forces in Kuakonda space, he mentioned.
They have been booked below the Chhattisgarh Special Public Security Act, 2005, he mentioned.
