Is Biden’s Infrastructure Bill a Triumph or a Disappointment?

Sonali Kolhatkar speaks with Jennifer Epps Addison, Co-Executive Director of the Center for Popular Democracy

President Joe Biden on Monday signed a $1 trillion infrastructure spending invoice into legislation touting it as, “the moment America began to win the competition of the 21st century.” The invoice was dramatically pared down from its authentic $three trillion scope, whittled down by company and conservative pursuits. In the tip quite a few Senate and House Republicans joined Democrats in voting for the invoice.

Meanwhile, the Build Back Better invoice, which encompasses a lot of Mr. Biden’s agenda, and which was finally delinked from passage of the infrastructure invoice, is on maintain. Progressive lawmakers within the House voted no on the infrastructure invoice in protest.
