In a second case of “dishonour killing” from Haryana within the final three days, 23-year-old Neeraj was stabbed to loss of life allegedly by his brothers-in-law who had been towards their sister’s inter-caste love marriage.

The incident passed off in Panipat’s busy market space late on Friday night time, and the accused may be seen operating away in a CCTV footage.

Though the police have filed a case within the matter, they’re but to apprehend the accused who stabbed Neeraj not less than a dozen occasions.

“The woman and the man’s families had agreed to the marriage and this was given in writing at a village panchayat meeting. But the woman’s brothers did not approve, and had been threatening the couple,” Deputy Superintendent of Police Satish Kumar Vats stated.

Further police investigation is on, he added.

It was only a month-and-a-half in the past that Neeraj’s marriage was solemnised and a village-level assembly had been referred to as a number of occasions on this regard.
