Hong Kong Police Makes First Arrest Under Controversial New Security Law

A person present in possession of a Hong Kong independence flag grew to become the primary particular person to be arrested below Beijing’s new nationwide safety regulation for town, police mentioned Wednesday.

“A man was arrested for holding a #HKIndependence flag in #CausewayBay, Hong Kong, violating the #NationalSecurityLaw,” police wrote on their verified Twitter account alongside an image of the person and the flag.

“This is the first arrest made since the law has come into force,” the drive added.
