Fed Approves States to Vaccinate 65 and Older with COVID-19 Vaccine – NewsNet


Operation Warp Speed is shifting ahead to broaden eligible individuals getting vaccinated after exhibiting frustration with the states sluggish dealing with of covid-19 vaccine distribution.

Secretary of Health and Human Services Alex Azar provides states the approval to states to vaccinate individuals 65 and older, even when some states haven’t completed vaccinating all healthcare employees.

Azar had beforehand proven considerations that states had been placing up pink tape holding up vaccinations, basically leaving unused vaccines in freezers.

In the meantime the federal authorities introduced that it’s going to change it’s ways in delivering vaccines to states.

“Effective two weeks from now. We are changing how we allocate first doses among the states to ensure doses are being put to use, and put to use for the most vulnerable,” says Azar. “We will be allocating them based on the pace of administration as reported by the states and by the size of the 65 and over population in each state.”
