A 70-year-old farmer died after consuming some toxic substance throughout a protest towards the brand new farm Bills in Muktsar district of Punjab, police stated on Saturday.
Pritam Singh, a resident of Akkanwali village of Mansa district, consumed the toxic substance on Friday morning and died at a hospital later within the day, they stated.
Singh had been taking part within the protest since September 15, being organised by the Bharatiya Kisan Union (Ekta Ugrahan) at Badal village, the native of former chief minister Parkash Singh Badal
