Dalit Woman Gang Raped At Gunpoint In UP

A case has been registered beneath related sections within the matter, SP Choudhary mentioned.

Kanpur:

A Dalit girl was allegedly raped at gunpoint by two males, together with a former village head, in Kanpur Dehat district of Uttar Pradesh, police mentioned on Sunday.

“The incident took place a week back, but the police were informed about the alleged gang rape on Sunday,” Superintendent of Police (Kanpur Dehat) Keshav Kumar Choudhary mentioned.

According to a criticism filed by the sufferer’s dad and mom, the accused duo barged into their home when the 22-year-old girl was alone and raped her one after the other at gunpoint. They then left after threatening her of dire penalties if she dared to talk about the incident to anybody.

A case has been registered beneath related sections of IPC and the Scheduled Castes and Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989 within the matter, SP Choudhary mentioned.

Three police groups headed by SHO Derapur, circle officer and extra SP other than SWAT group have been shaped to arrest the absconding accused, he added.

The incident comes shut on the heels of the gang rape-murder of one other Dalit girl in Hathras that had drawn intense outrage after alleged apathy of the administration.
