Coronavirus lockdown: Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora has been caught within the United States as a result of suspension of worldwide flights from and to India. Last Monday, the EC introduced that its chief commissioner and two different commissioners will take a 30 per cent reduce of their fundamental pay for one yr to help the Centre in its combat in opposition to Coronavirus. “Commission has decided to contribute in the form of voluntary reduction of thirty per cent in the basic salary paid by the Election Commission of India to Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora and Election Commissioners Ashok Lavasa and Sushil Chandra for a period of one year commencing 1st April, 2020,” it mentioned in a press release.
