The Union Cabinet on Wednesday permitted improvement of Affordable Rental Housing Complexes for city migrants and poor as a sub-scheme below the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban, the federal government stated.
As a part of the scheme, current vacant government-funded housing complexes might be transformed into Affordable Rental Housing Complex (ARHC).
An expenditure of Rs 600 crore is estimated within the type of “technology innovation grant”, an official spokesperson stated on Twitter after the Cabinet assembly.
He stated three lakh beneficiaries might be coated initially. The complexes will revert to city native our bodies (ULBs) after 25 years to restart the following cycle.
