Buffalo: India Walton on the Racist Massacre & Community’s Need for Gun Control, Good Jobs, Housing

As Buffalo, New York mourns the lack of the 10 individuals killed Saturday in a racist rampage at an area grocery retailer within the coronary heart of town’s African American group, we get an replace from longtime group activist and former mayoral candidate India Walton in regards to the lack of consideration to the structural points that made the Black group susceptible and the ineffectiveness of police. “My question is: What happens when the cameras leave? How do we continue to support the people who have been negatively impacted?” says Walton. “What decreases gun violence, particularly in places like East Buffalo, is going to be good living-wage jobs, affordable housing, a quality education, and access to the basic needs that this community has lacked for so long.”
