At Least 13 Killed In Explosion At Medical Clinic In Iran’s Tehran

A robust explosion at a clinic in northern Tehran killed a minimum of 13 individuals on Tuesday, Iran’s semi-official ISNA information company reported, citing the emergency medical companies.

The blast at Sina At’har well being centre prompted harm to buildings within the neighborhood and despatched a plume of thick black smoke into the night time sky, state tv reported.

“An explosion was reported at 20:56 (1626 GMT) followed by a fire at Sina At’har clinic. Medical units were dispatched immediately,” the EMS stated in an announcement.

Ten of the casualties have been girls, Tehran’s police chief Hossein Rahimi advised ISNA.

Tehran hearth division spokesman Jalal Maleki advised state TV that the explosion occurred as gasoline canisters caught hearth within the clinic’s basement.

Some of the victims “were in upper floors in operation rooms, who were either patients being operated on or those with them,” he stated.

“They unfortunately lost their lives due to the heat and thick smoke.”
