Six staff have been killed in a blast which triggered a hearth in a chemical manufacturing unit in Gujarat’s Bharuch district on Monday, officers mentioned.
The incident came about round three am within the unit situated in Dahej industrial space, some 235 km from Ahmedabad.
The six victims have been working close to a reactor, which abruptly blew off throughout solvent distillation course of, Bharuch Superintendent of Police Leena Patil mentioned.
“The blast in the reactor caused a fire in the factory. All the six persons working near the reactor died. The bodies were later recovered and sent for postmortem. The fire was also brought under control,” she mentioned.
No one else was injured within the incident, the official mentioned.
