42 Tourists Arrested For Gambling After Raid In Goa Hotel

Panaji:

Goa Police have arrested 42 vacationers after a raid on a playing den at Calangute seashore village close to Panaji, an official stated on Sunday.

Cash value Rs 10 lakh, 57 cell phones and different materials had been seized following the raid performed in a lodge close to the Calangute seashore in North Goa district round Saturday midnight, a police spokesman stated.

The accused, all vacationers from Gujarat, Maharashtra and New Delhi, had been caught playing on the fifth flooring of the lodge, he stated.

All the accused have been booked beneath provisions of the Goa, Daman and Diu Public Gambling Act, he stated.

The official stated they’ll write a letter to the state tourism division to hunt suspension of the lodge’s licence.
